Well it is my understanding that it take a while to get licensed...at least a couple of months. If i were you, I'd go ahead and request a pre-licensing packet from the USDA. The packet will tell you more about what needs to be done to become licensed. That way you will have all the paper work done when they do breed.
As for when they will breed...it's hard to tell. I'm no expert by any means. But it is my understanding that each glider is different. I have read posts of gliders as young as 5 months oop concieving...which i think is incredible!

: Hi all, I can't tell you enough how much i have learned from reading your messages! I have a pair of gliders that are doing very well i think, however i have just a few questions, and then a coment. We spend lots of time together, i work very wierd hours so it doesn't bother me that they are nocturnal..we usually spend 3-5 hours together a night, usually starting at 9pm and ranging till about 3am. My boy is about 8 mo old and my little girl is probably about 5 mo old, he is a little less than twice her size. I'm wondering when i need to be USDA certified to allow breeding, selling, giving, and such.. asically when do you think they will begin to breed? Also I feel that we are pretty well bonded, then nibble a bit, pretty hard too, but i think this is done mostly out of affection. At night when they are playing they are VERY active, what I'm wondering is this..would any of you describe their nightly playfulness as "skiddish" without sounding harsh? I don't know whether they are uncomfortable or whether they just move very quickly when they are playing. The other thing is that although i know that they like me, i'm not feeling as loved as i think i can, they do not vouldnteerily cuddle with me during the day, however at night i am ONE HUGE JUNGLE GYM, which i think signifies that they like me. Please let me know if you think that their nightly behavior is one of trusting gliders or of scared gliders. One other thing that i am wondering about is the famous "face-hugging" is there a way to prevent this from happening, my boy Tamur likes to jump onto me from high things and occasionally will jump onto my head or accidently scratch my face on the way to my sholder. And my little girl Gidget seized the opertunity the other day when i was being affectionate and admiring her at her level, FULL face hug! I'm not sure how to teach them that this is bad. THe last thing, I can't seem to get them to play in their wodent wheel, what can i do to attract them to this fun platime item? THey have the hampster balls and they like those, and i tried to put some of that shelve gripping material on the inside of the wheel, but tamur went straight to chewing it, so i quickly took it out. Sorry to ramble, i get very excited about them, and our accomplishments and trials. All the help you can give is appreciated in advance,

: Mandy, Tamur & Gidget
