: I have an eight month old sugar glider that has bonded more
: to my boyfriend than to me, but I don't think that he is
: tame enough to take out of the cage to play with.I am curious as to whether
: there is a way to tell when my sugar glider is tame enough
: that I can let him out of the cage without the chance of
: him never coming back to me.

Trust has to be built on both sides. You have to trust your glider as well as your glider has to trust you. If you do not take him out of the cage then how will you know? How will you trust your glider? You should have him out of the cage during the day in a bonding pouch. Wear the pouch so that he grows more accustomed to your scents and voices, and your movements. At first take him out to play in a small room like the bathroom, after making it gliderproof. Put away all hygiene products so that they are out of reach. Stop up all holes and drains. Look for anything that might cause harm or possible escape or hiding. Once you have glider proofed the area take him in there for some play time. Best of luck to you all.
