You know, over the years you hear so much, you read so much, and you run into those things that just grate at your nerves. While the discussion was going on about teaching a glider to glide, I felt very uneasy, till I remembered where it was that I also seen where someone was "tossing" the glider.. I remembered a post a few years back and remembered the anger of what it was about. It wasn't till this morning that I read WHY it infurated us so much..And after revisiting the site that I swore I would never return back to, I remember now why I made that vow. It was a couple of sentences that he had on there that sent me again reeling in my seat. Like I didn't have enough to get angry about. I guess I was hoping somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind, that he was no longer in business, or at least that he had changed his web page. But alas, to no avail.. the 2 sentences that really set me off were...
1. I "toss" Precious, our store pet, about thirty
feet to another person. Like a living paper airplane, she just
glides on over! It is very fun.
2. Our experience is that males get slightly larger, you can "toss"
them farther,
Again after reading this I was furious, to no end.. How could anyone think that a glider may enjoy this? 30 FT? My god, can you imagine the fear? I would never "toss" my Baybe a few feet let alone 30 ft.. okay folks, is it just me? Or does this sound really preposterious?
