: Hi, i am the proud owner of a male sugar glider, his name is Marco. my question is, should i get him a sugar glider companion, or will he be O.K. by himself. I carry him with me all day, but i'm not sure if that's enough. I have heard that no matter how much time you spend with a glider,it will never replace the companionship of it's on kind.I just don't want him to die of loneliness. How will i know if he is happy?

: I have my own male sugar glider, Cupid, he does not have a glider companion, and he was always raised with one. I got him from a friend and he is about 1 year old. he had always had a female with him, but we are so bonded now, that he treats me as a playmate/gider companion. If you spend enough time with your glider he will not die of loneliness. it is true that gliders love glider companionship, but if you only have one your companionship can be enough. When your glider barks and chitters to you, comes when he hears your voice and nibbles on your finger, not bitting but a love nibble, then you know he is happy because he has found someone to love and nothing is better for a glider than a loving caring owner which I can tell you are...Happy gliding Shannon
