I have never tried to use a leash. My glider is completly pouch trained. He has pecaked his head out, but never gets out of the pouch. The people that have tried the leashes have had a lot of problems. The gliders scurim, and you have to hold them down to get them in it. Simply forcing them into the elashes can cause the trust they have in you to go down. Once they do get into the leash, they can sometimes still get out. The can squeeze out of most anything. There are a few people who say they use leashes and have no problems...but I have heard of more people having problems than not. Don't leave your house with him until you know for sure he won't come out. Also know what time he wakes up for playtime at night. If you are going to be out later than that..then don't take him with you. My glider has been waking himself up at 10:30 every night. So now I either get home before 10:30...or I bring him home.
