I had a pet flying squirrel when I was younger. Individual ones are wonderful pets when gotten young. This one was a rescue. Recently we were on vacation in the North Carolina Mountains and had a flying squirrel nest in a hole above one of our decks. This female was a good bit larger than my gliders. She had a baby who poked it's head out (don't know what age) and he was about the size of the gliders.The one I had wasn't this large. Their tails are quite fluffy and not as long as gliders.
