Subject: Another lost ear case

I was reading http://www.sugarglider.com/stories today as part of my research (if nothing else, these stories tell you many ways NOT to take care of your glider). One of the most recent ones, from May 18, is called "Half-eared Meeko". It tells about a glider with a condition that sounds exactly like Toby's. Maybe this infestation is more common than we realized! Many owners (and too many vets) may just assume that the ears got injured.

It seems the glider community needs to keep its eyes open. If this turns out to be as common as these two incidents indicate, I suggest that those with glider care pages put it right alongside nutritional osteodystrophy (calcium defficiency) as something that owners really need to know about.

Just my $.02. -- pwf
p.s. I already emailed the author of the story and suggested that she (he?) check out the recent posts here.
