Personally, i would not. Why take the unnecessary risk????
If you change the litter on a regular basis it shouldn't smell that bad anyway!
I know that research has shown that scented candles, carpet fragrance, incense and such can be toxic to animals (mainly birds)...so i wouldn't take any unnecessary risks.
