Welcome, Missy!
I have read everyone's advice and it was excellent. Please read Bourbon's site information. There is so much information in it that goes beyond bonding issues. It also helps to inform you on what you should feed your little one, what to do if you see some strange things happening, and real life stories.

In it you will find that veterans suggest you place a piece of clothing (ie: a shirt or rag) with your scent on it. Do place honey or fruit baby food on your finger BUT only let them take a lick or two. If your lil one bites you MUST take the bite and not pull away. They will only get the impression that they can make you leave them alone by biting. It is also HIGHLY recommended in buying a removeable pouch (one you can hang from your neck) to carry around with you during the day while your lil one sleeps. That way you can remove it from the cage while they are in it and so that they get used to being around you.

Things like those suggestions can be found at Bourbon's site. I ALSO highly recommend checking out their diet. It is so very important.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing!

:o)
