: I'm a new poster. I have a boy. I got him 3/18/00 and the breeder said he was six weeks old. (I'm assuming he's 5 mos OOP?) Went to the pet store today to buy his mealworms and the clerk asked me if I was cutting its head off before I feed it to him, because the worm could eat his stomach and cause problems. Well my sg holds the worm at his head and tail and starts with the middle - will the head still hurt him if I don't cut it off? Also are fresh(washed)alive grasshoppers, & maybe a wild camealon(lots outside my front door) ok for him to eat? Or should I kill them first?

well, i don't know about the grasshoppers...but i wouldn't feed the cameleons (sp?). As far as the mealworms...get the small sized mealworms..you won't have to worry about beheading them. It is the superworms that have been known to cause intestinal damage to reptiles because they keep chewing after the reptiles eat them....don't know if they would cause the same problem with gliders because gliders tend to chew their food alot more than reptiles do..but i have always kept away from them just in case.
hope this helps :)
PS try crickets....most gliders absolutely love them!
