Kerry, the best way you can be sure , is to find a PROVEN diet, one that has been used for years, and has no ill effects, there are many diets out there just like that. As for how much of what they are eating.. well we leave that up to the gliders descretion.. much like if they only ate a bite or so of the briskys , we don't know that EVERYTHING is in that one piece. all we can do is OFFER the best that we know is good for them. As for your breeders diet, if it is one she had used for years with no ill effects, then by all means.. but i was curious as to why fix something that isn't broke..There was a huge discussion on SG.net with Rich Nutter, he is the brother of the guy that owns the petpro line. He was very informative for many of our questions, but very evasive on others. When asked wheat we could feed with that food to make it a balanced diet.. we got no response.. his calcium:phosporus ratio was 1.5 : 2, the calcium should be 2 times as much as the phosphorus. It does state on the package it isn't a complete food, but he wouldn't tell us how to make it balanced either. The best thing to do as I said is to find a PROVEN diet and stay with it, while you are researching the diet issues.. All the proven diets that I am aware of has the necessary nutrients, but be careful on who says their diet is proven and who doesn't. Thats where your work will start.. who knows maybe years later you too will be in my shoes after learning about them.. :)
