Trust me, I know it seems silly but think about it.
Who would honestly turn away the pitiful looking OBVIOUSLy
injured creature. I will tell you who, a COLD hearted person, and most vets are not usually there because they have to be. It is because they want to be. Its their job to care. I had a cat i had picked up off the street. It was abandoned in a box full of the rest of his litter long before it was time to be away from the mother. He had the chlamydia germ and a really bad case of fleas among other psychological problems. (such as attacking his food LOL)and agression. I found a vet that treated him though and he helped me out ALOT.. He could have gotten in trouble but he knew i obviously couldnt afford it but i cared enough to brnig it in anyways, So he still charged me just not as much as he could have .. =)
I do hope you save your SG's life.. i dont know what id do if mine got sick like that =(
