: : I couldn't agree more!

: : : I have been reading and posting on this board for some time now, and I have NEVER seen this many gliders for sale because people get them and then realize they don't have the time, patience, knowledge or money to keep them.
: : : Please, Please do the research BEFORE getting your SG. They are expensive to begin with, and as all of you have found out, they are very "high maintenance" pets.
: : : My 1st glider was an impulse buy so I do understand how it happens. The difference I'm seeing is that there are many young people getting them before they realize just how expensive and time consuming they can be.

: I agree too. I researched Gliders for a few years before I actually bought my two babies. These animals can live a "long" time in captivity. When you research not only do you have to make sure you have the time and money for them now, but you also have to make sure you have the time and money for them in 10 years too! It's just not fair for people to expect an animal that will bond so close to you, to bond to a new owner because you lost interest or didn't have the means to take care of it as you thought you would. In cases where time, and means are not avalible, I commend the hard desision to let your babies go to better homes for the good of the baby, but it's a better idea to stop this from happening all together from the begining.
