If you have someone who will come to your home, make out an EXACT feeding schedule. If I'm going to be gone for several days, I even make up their meal and leave it in the frig in ziplock bags marked with which day to feed them which one.
If yours like make mealies, they keep very nicely in the frig and it's a special treat while you are gone.
I have gone both directions - leaving them at home or having them stay in someone else's home. In my case, leaving them at home has worked out much better. They tend to be less stressed.
Also,if the friend can't spend some time every night with them, the food can be placed in the cage early in the evening. That way your friend won't feel he has to arrange his schedule to be at your house around midnight - unless he wants to play with them that night.
