My twin boys were only 4 week OOP when I got them and while I would not recommend this age for a newbie owner, this is not as awful an age as you make it out to be. As long as they are weaned (and as with all animals, some get weaned earlier than others) and are handling the seperation from their mothers they should be okay.

Sheena -
Just remember how very little they are and that they can get dehydrated VERY easily at this age. Make sure they are eating and drinking! They will sleep ALOT at this age, but make sure that they are active when they are awake. And watch their stools...they may be soft, but make sure they are not runny or liquidy!
