when we all discussed the "commercial" ads we also discussed the gliders sales.. here is what we all decided
1. that we can give links to other classified places to post the sales of the gliders, but also that if someone was looking for a glider, and lets say they were in an illegal state, we can stress that, also stress research as well. give them informative links to go to in order for them to understand what they may be getting into.. If they were selling, what a better place than a place where there are experienced people that could help.. I persoanlly would rather see a glider go to a home that has at least researched, and has been involved with them prior to.. most experienced owners don't travel amoung the classifies.. but there are many who do.. glidercentral does have a classified base, as does acme pet, also there is one at the link below. the one at glidercentral and the link below is strickly glider specific..
Karen, as you know I as well as many others understand just what you feel .. many, many times, the sales of gliders is due not just to "emergency situations" but too many are the fad owners , when the newness wears off, those that don't take the time to teach their gliders to trust them, people tire of them, they are too much trouble.. we have all seen it, we will see much , much more before we ourselves are gone.. this is very sad, but true..there are states with some very good laws. and some are strickly enforced...for instance..
1. in PA you MUST be a usda licensed breeder to seel a glider, they also must only be bought and sold within the state, but you can ONLY buy from a usda lisensed breeder..those that aquire their gliders illegally, take a BIG risk of haveing them destroyed.. sad but true...
2. in UTAH, you must aquire a permit PRIOR to the ownership, NO opposite sex gliders are allowed unless the male is neutered.. NO BREEDING is allowed in UTAH..therefore babies are illegal unless legally purchased..
