Kim, I agree that buying a wild glider for a first glider is not a good idea, in fact it is not one I would ever advocate.. however; I believe the question was a "RESCUED GLIDER" That is one that some one else rescued and cared for.. if that is the case, much like what Elwin does as does a lot of us. After the treatment and handleing then maybe so.. IF she was talking about her herself recuing a glider, I would have to say that depends on the issues.. and what one defines as a rescue... Aprils little boy was a rescue, he lost his mother at a very young age, the breeder was feeding him catfood.. she did "rescue him however; it was too late.. This is always a possibility with rescues, that the money spent is sometimes fruitless, cause the glideer may die.. There are very few of us, that would throw that money to the wind, but those of us that would, have the experience and the knowledge, that the gliders may die. If the rescue is a severe biter.. absolutly NOT, for a first time owner.. When dealing with direct rtescues, YOU MUST know what you are getting into, and the money that may be involved..
