: : Depends on what mix you are using. I use Bourbon's mod. leadbeaters and all I feed is what they will eat in fruits/veggs. = a 2:1 ratio. That mix also doesn't require (sp) and extra proteins. I feed crickets and other things in moderation to the diet itself. You can read about this here:

: No extra protein is needed? I thought more protein needed to be added to keep the ratios right. We fed our (2) 5 month old gliders the Leadbeaters last night and they ate about 1 tablespoon between then with about 2 tablespoons of extra fruit. Does this sound normal? I have just been concerned that they haven't been eating the other protein foods we tried, except the mealworms or crickets.

As they get older I would feed 1 tbsp of leadbeaters and 2 tbsp of fruits/veggies. If they are eating it all now go ahead and feed more. Are they eating the leadbeaters? If so good, they will IN TIME eat the other protein foods. It is really not needed though. If they are eating all the leadbeaters give them more. Between the two almost 2 tbsp will be eaten in time.

I will let Bourbon expalin anything I missed the ratio ext. The answer to the "Q" is no the extra pro. in not needed and the ratio will not be thrown off if they do not have it. I think you do however need to consider giving the full tbsp of leadbeaters per glider ect.
