Hi Larry.......when I was living at home with Mom & Dad, my Dad had a buddy that often gave us critters from the wild, crow, owl, bullfrogs, squirrels, etc......they were so fun to have, we always let them go after a while.....Sugar gliders are the coolest pets I ever had. They are very dependant on thier owners though, and it's different from other pets because they're nocturnal.......People generally sleep through the night, every night, a person could go quite a while real quick without even seeing their pet.....at the same time, it still need to be fed a variety of fresh food and clean water faithfully EVERY day (or night), a glider owner must be dedicated to this task. A sugar glider will live 10 - 12 years and will be a great companion if you are patient and consistent in caring for it and handling it regularly. Good luck finding your baby and best wishes for the years to come. Well, I wouldn't try to talk anyone out of having one, just that you should learn as much as you can about them BEFORE you invest, keep seeking until you find a good source of information that you can depend on. : Well, i live in florida and the reason id want a permit
