: My 2 yr old female lost her mate 1 year ago. I'm getting an 8 month old and would like suggestions on how to properly introduce them with as little disturbance as possible. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank-you in advance!

Hi,
There is several different pieces of advice that you can do. But all are the same in that you don't usually place them together right away. The one you have mey get territorial and that would cause a fight. And you don't want either glider hurt.
One man put them in seperate cages but placed the cages side by side and also took their bed-balnkets and switched them every second night. That way they get use to the other smell and will soon realize that the other is ok.
Aswell he would rub each glider with the other bed-blanket so that they will have each other smell and they will realize that they are friends.
So try that method. It worked for a friend of mine who got another friend for his glider...and they didn't like each other at all. One was really territorial the other was scared. SO he put the cages together and switched the blankets. Soon they accepted each other and now they are the best of friends. But don't think this will happen over night...it takes time. It needs to 'bond' to a new buddy.:)
Good luck. I hope that helped. :)
