: I just got two new male SG's and they bite hard. Also- they
: are brown. Is that weird? All the web-sites say that they
: are grey. They are both very nervous and angry. They are
: nine months old. I have tried giving them mealworms which
: they take and will let me pet while they eat them. However,
: when I give them fruit- they take a bite then try to bite
: me- HARD. Please- if anyone has any advice on my two sweeties
: I would be so thankful.

Stephanie,
The brown sugar gliders are just a different color that is all, actually the brown ones are harder to get because most of the others are grey. Actually I am looking for a brown female. Anyway, the biting thing will stop as they get to know you better and this will take time and patience. Try putting the leadbeaters mix on your fingers or honey. When they go to bite you they will realize the there is something good there and begin to lick it off! It works well. Remember not to pull away when they do bite however. Because then they will realize that if they want you not to touch them all they have to do is bite. If you don't move your finger they will soon give up on that idea, plus the honey/leadbeaters will have them wanting to lick your fingers instead of biting them.
Good luck and happy glidering
