Well, gliders aren't like children- they are VERY family-group oriented. In the wild they will live of troops of 10-20 individuals. I think since you obviously don't want to put two males and two females together (mating-rights wars unless the males are neutered) , keeping them in separate cages would be a very good idea.
In the jealousy region- I doubt seriously that your gliders will hate you for bringing other gliders into your home, even if it detracts from the time you spend with them . You wouldn't neccessarily need to keep them in separate rooms, but the scent-marking of the males could increase a LOT in the other male's presence.
I agree- this man obviously doesn't give a horse's rear about them . I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
