I am one of the people who fight hard for research. Read, Learn, and Absorb. I have written to each state. The ones that have replied back allowed me to post their emails for all to see. I also tell EVERYONE to contact their local agencies to find out about the legalities. I would like to know what states you two have checked out so I myself can contact them to find out. When I wrote the states, I told them EXACTLY what a "Sugar Glider" was. In Oregon for example, They have "Sugar Gliders" listed as pocket pets. In Utah they have VERY strict restrictions. In Kentucky there are some areas that don't allow them. I have done my research and I am not above doing more if necessary. To come here and say that MOST states, cities and towns list marsupials as being illegal without giving specifics, is like telling someone to get you a special kind of ice cream . without telling them where to go for it. To TELL everyone they are illegal.. is really useless without giving us something to go on. Here is the Sugar Glider Info link..with the state restrictions. I too push for the facts, not just what could be but real facts. If you check out the page I have linked you will see while browsing that I as well as many others here push for the truth. We don't say they are sweet, In fact the ones I have to deal with Most do come from Pet shops and many times, irreputable breeders. You passion is animals in general , Mine is gliders, I have 4 very very sweet gliders. I too say they are not for everyone, I surely don't advocate having them around young children. The same things you are trying to stress here, we also stress many , many times a year. We could use someone like you here to help. This is not a matter of when we all don't share the same opinion. I many times as well as Jane have been slammed pretty hard for our cold calas harsh way of being straight forward. We have been accused of being anti-glider. But I honestly believe that everyone here, all have the same thing in common. We love the species. I myself have gone to great lengths to help many. I must say however, The ones that don't tame down.. usually have a pretty good reason. Traumatized, neglected, abused. etc..Please look over this linked page, If you see anyway, that you could help with it, feel free to let me know. My email is at the bottom. I can tell you, I live in Clarksville TN and I have been in contact with all the wild life officers here including the supervisor over several other counties. THEY ARE LEGAL here. If you can help me with where they are not legal.. I could update the page to reflect that. I have to agree with most of your post. But as with others here.. on somethings I will just have to agree to disagree. The fad thing is correct, the biting, scratching, some not taming, all i agree with. I will even go as far as agreeing they are legal in almost all states but some counties, towns or areas, say no. I also know they are illegal in Canada. Please help me here, help me place the updated info on.. but i need facts, people to contact, areas where they are illegal. We can't let people know without knowing ourselves.
