: I visited this site for the first time a couple days ago, I'm a new s.g. owner and wanted some information. The legality issue scared me a little so I looked into it. I live Alberta, Canada and yes they are a banned animal, marsupials. The fine is up to $5,000. We are here for only 6 more months on a 1 year visa and will be returning to the U.S. at that time. I checked there too - and you got it, banned there too. So what am I supposed to do?! Any suggestions welcome, I'm flabbergasted and feel lied to by this breeder, turns out he knew they were banned - told me to write to congress to get them legalized - yeah sure. Can I get my money back from the breeder? Help!

I'm in MI right now, where they are legal, but illegal to breed w/o a license ( not that hard to get from what I've read ) but also moving in one year for grad school... was planning on CA until I read about the STUPID/strict rules... so now looking into other grad schools... they aren't illegal in all states, like AZ for example... check lower on this site, Someone has a web page with information on each states law regarding gliders, it was very helpful! )

good luck!
Candi
