I went out and got the ingredients for Bourbon's leadbeaters diet tonight. I put it all together as the instructions say (not as hard as I thought it would be), but my gliders aren't interested. Do you think it would be ok if just this ONE time I drizzled more honey over the top to get them interested enough to try it? I wouldn't do it regularly cuz I know the diet is balanced as it's supposed to be, but all that does me no good if they won't even try it frown

I'm getting really frustrated with feeling so ignorant as a glider mommy. I research them before I got them & I thought I was semi-educated. I guess it's kinda like real parenthood-- you don't really know til you've had one.

Sure, go ahead and add a little honey to it to tempt them. Once they start to eat the BML, you can wean the extra honey out of the mixture - returning to the original recipe amount.

Another good idea straight from Bourbon when my little girl wouldn't eat it...remake the mixture adding either 1/3 cup of apple juice or applesauce. Then add a LITTLE applesauce cut into the BML when you feed it and add veggies pushed in a little. At first the glider will pick out the fave veggies which have a little BML on it, and then they will get used to the taste.

After 6 weeks, Kiki now eats her BML straight and when I made her last batch I didn't add the applesauce and she still loves it!

I mix a little bit of Mott's Fruitsations - mixed berry applesauce into B's Leadbeater's, without this my Little People will not eat it smile

I have had to use a small amount of yogurt to get them to eat it as well, then I just tapper off the addons slowly and they end up eating it straight and loving it. We still add a little something about once per month as a treat! wink

If all the above doesn't work add a jar of Sweet Potatoes

If all the above doesn't work add a jar of Sweet Potatoes instead of the apple juice or sauce

raspberry Wow !! Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll see what works. I just didn't want to throw off the balance of the diet.
