With the health of Sugar Gliders in mind I would like to know why there is nothing on diet from this board except from what I just saw in a dish. A dish with peanuts, sunflower seeds, cat food and not a high grade of kitten chow at that.

Nothing about insects. Did not see anything about calcium supplementing.

Since a Sugar Glider is considered an omnivore it should not be feed a diet of vegetable matter. A Sugar Gliders diet should have at least 35% protein. And with babies even more.

I do not wish to offend anyone but with the health of the Sugar Gliders in mind I find this detramental to the health of any glider who eats this type of diet.

Sincerely, Judie Hausmann

I'm confused. Is that the diet you think we promote here on the board? Maybe I was reading this post wrong..but we always send people to Bourbon's diet page when people have a diet question. I do not believe that anyone here thinks thats a good glider diet.

Beck, Please look up Gliderpedia and then food or diet.

It pops up in plain sight.

I know that this is not the diet that is promoted from the board personaly. However, This page if viewed by a newbie, may quite well think it would be suitable. Perhaps the page could be replaced with something else as for diet.

I must confess when I read the diet page and then looked at the picture I was overwhelmed.

Judy I agree, this is not the proper information on sugar glider diet. I'm definitely not meaning to offend the person or people who wrote the diet section. For one thing sugar gliders cant eat "basically anything". Another thing, kitten food and nuts are not good for gliders, they are not squirrels. Vegetables are good, but arent they missing a few things? Where's the leadbeaters? insects? fruit? Thank you for mentioning this problem Judy, this is the first time I have looked at the diet section. I hope that the diet section can be changed with more up to date information. Thanks!

Angie

Oh you meant the diet on the website..not the board. Yes I've read that before and we have discussed here before that the page needs its infomation needs to be changed. The person who owns this site hasn't had time to chnage things...but now it seems lots of things are being chnaged...its just taking time.
