I am buying a glider from a woman in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, and I need help transporting him from Florida to Kentucky. I live in Lexington, KY and I can drive about three hours to meet someone. If you would like to help, please email me or post here. I would greatly appreciate any help that you can give. I am trying to give a good home to Sydney, a male glider listed in the classifieds section on the sugarglider.net message board. I will see how far Alicia, his current owner, is willing to travel north, and post it below.

Well, Alice has been wonderful enough to map out a route for me that will go through Alabama. I have contacted everyone that is along the way, however we still have a gap from Mobile, AL to Birmingham, AL (91 miles)and from Brimingham, AL to either Memphis, TN (238 miles) or to Nashville, TN (193 miles). I would really appreciate any help in getting my new baby to Kentucky. If you can help, please let me know!

I'm not sure when everything will happen yet. So far you and Michelle are the only ones that can help, so I can only get him from Tallahassee to Mobile, AL. Yerusha can't help drive, but she will help glider sit if needed, but I would still need to get him to Selmer, TN for her to be able to help. I am still waiting on a response from four people. I they can all help, we might be able to pull this off. I'll keep you updated on how everything is going and when a starting date is set. Thank you so much for your help!

This may or may not be a possibility, but I thought I would just throw it out
Our family goes to Destin, FL every June for our family reunion ... I know you want your glider before then  ... but it might be possible and more successful to plot a RR trip with a slightly different route.
Although coming through Little Rock is a little further mileage wise, we might be able to get volunteers coming through Jackson/Hattiesburg/Pine Bluff,AR/Little Rock/Memphis ... I think that until the first of the year Jacque in Memphis could help get your glider to Yerusha.
I can drive a couple hours either side of Little Rock which would get the glider to Memphis.
Why don't we see if we have anyone to help using a little different route.

Thanks for the idea! I have worked out two possible routes, so if any one can help with these, please let me know. There is not time limit on the trip, so far.

I could probably help getting the glider from Eudora, AR to Little Rock, AR. Once in Little Rock, we could work out the details to get to Memphis ... perhaps Jacque could help there.
I do know that she will be moving fairly soon (around the lst of January unless plans have changed), so we would have to "sorta hurry" with option #2.

That would be great! I would still need volunteers to drive from Mobile to Eudora, but it is definitely a start. I am having such a hard time finding people to volunteer that I have started asking friends and family if they plan to travel to Florida any time soon Hopefully Sydney's owner will be patient and will not decide to sell him to someone else. I'm trying to get a new job right now. If I'm able to get it. I would be able to dive to hattisburg, MS. My best friend lives their and I need to go visit her. But right now with the current job I have. I don't have a full weekend to go see her. So If I get a new job soon, or I can take acouple days off from the one I have. I can drive from Fort Walton, to hattisburg. But I just need to figure out when you what the Sydney, and when I can do it. If the owner is willing to drive him here to me, at her convience<sp> and I could keep Sydeny till I could get to hattisburg. But I might not be able to get sydeny to hattisbrug till after X-mas if she brings him to me within the next week or 2. depending on timeing. Can you e-mail the info you put into your last e-mail...phone..

Thanks Nikki! I am still having trouble getting him to Tallahassee, but it would be a great help if you could get him to Hattiesburg. Then I would only need someone to get him from Hattiesburg to Eudora. I will email you my number again so that we can talk and work something out. I am going to try calling the owner again today, and I will let you know if she can possibly get him to Tallahassee. From there I can get him to you in Ft. Walton Beach. I would appreciate it if you could glider sit him until you can make the trip to Hattiesburg. Everything is finally starting to come together. I can't wait to meet him! Thank again.

A woman from Illinois emailed me and volunteered to bring Sydney north with her when her family returns from a vacation in Orlando. Isn't that wonderful?! I think I have everything planned out, but I may need someone to drive him to Orlando on the 1st of January. It depends on his owner's schedule, but if she is not able to make the trip that day, I might need a volunteer to drive from either Clearwater, FL or from Tampa, FL to deliver Sydney to the next volunteer. If anyone is able to make the trip, please let me know!
