Sugar cane should be fine....I grew up chewing on it. Just strip off the outer "skin" / shell or whatever you want to call it....Let me know how they like it....I think they should LOVE it! Good luck!

Sugar cane is great ... mine love it, but they don't get it very often because it is very high in sugar.
I usually refrigerate mine to keep it from spoiling. I have found that it will grow mold if just left in a baggie.

Using sugarcane sounds interesting but how do you get a hold of some. Or do you have to live in Hawaii? I don't think I've ever seen it in stores. Can someone enlighten me on this? wink

You can also buy sugarcane already cut at PetsMart in the section where they sell hamster food.
