Go to the links above, click on Bourbon's link (the first one listed) and go to bonding. Follow the instructions there. Be patient, your glider is terrified of you. With time and gentleness he will respond with trust, and love. smile

Since he came from a pet store he will probably have issues. Let him get used to the new home for a day or three, put on an old t-shirt and wear it all night and all day tommorrow, then lay it over his cage so he can get used to your smell, when you talk to him be gentle and patient he is scared and you have to teach him your not gonna hurt him, if you havent already go to Bourbons bonding page and read the advice there. Does he bite? I would assume so. If you havent already read the diet page too.
If he bites you, take the bite, dont jump away, dont yell and hollar, It is really important that he learns you are not going to hurt him back.
How old is he? If you read Bourbons advice it will help you enormously!
Let us know how your doin, I am wishing you the best of luck..... Kimi

Get a pouch and put him in it keep it on you--tucked in your shirt or shirt pocket so he gets used to your scent. Always offer him a treat when you put him in the pouch. (You might also leave a treat in the pouch for him.) This glider sounds like he has not been handled, so it will probably take a great deal of patience on your side. Do you know how old he is???

I also got my glider from a pet store two months ago. She crabbed at everything. After two weeks I thought she would never love me, and I lover her so much. Finally after carrying her around in the pouch during the day for three weeks she bonded, and very strongly. She loves me. It just takes patience. Also, if you always have some food to let her nibble on she will associate you with things to eat and always want to be around you. Without the pouch it would have been much harder to get her to bond with me. Just be patient.

yeah the pouch is most important, cuz you can wear it around your neck when your home during the day, that way the guy gets used to your smell everywhere. i also wore a shirt for several days and draped it over juno's cage every night, and wore the same shirt when i played with her, so she got used to my stink <gryn>. putting the pouch inside your shirt will also get your glider used to going down your shirt when scared, sleepy, or the lights are too bright. try hand feeding through the cage or next to his pouch (not in it, he'll go mideival on your fingers, i only made this mistake once, before i knew the websites existed =P), use the leadbeaters, wet & sweet fruits like ripe figs, mangos, peaches and apples...don't move fast, and don't take your hand away when he crabs, and keep talking in a very low, gentle voice. eventually he'll realize youre not invading and not going to hurt him, and you can start handling him. it only took about a week before juno was sleeping in my shirt.
oh...i got juno from petland, before i knew better =P. something to consider is taking your little bro to an exotics vet for a checkup...juno had a respiratory infection about a day after i brought her home (stress, environment change, previous diet and care, etc)...no matter how nice/caring/whatever the people are at the pet store, they don't always provide the correct environment, and that can translate to an unhappy glider =P...
anyway good luck
