i posted messages on other boards. i recently purchased a glider from a petshop near by. he appeared very healthy, tamed and happy. well, i've had him for a month now. everyday i feed him fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, mealworms and including cal supplement. he really won't eat the fruits/veggies. he chews them and spits them out consistently. the only thing he'll really eat is VERY lil dried fruits, nuts and loves mealworms. i can't get him to eat the good stuff besides the worms. i just started the BML mix. he licks/chews and then spits it out. i don't think he's getting enough nutrients. plse help me. email is greatly appreciated. thanks :-)

Gliders eat a little differently than most other pets you will come across.
Your glider is doing what is absolutely correct and normal for gliders.
They will take food into their mouth, suck out the nutrients they need and spit out the rest.
So, you see, your little one is just being the glider he was meant to be.
Sounds like you are doing a good job. Pleae keep us posted on his progress.

Gissette, your glider is doing what asll gliders do - just as Karen E said. Yes, it is unusual, but all gliders chew then spit out food...Your little one is fine! (I'd recommend Caroline MacPherson's books if you don't already have them.) Be careful not to feed too many nuts: too much fat is bad for gliders. Also be careful of the dried fruit (Additives aren't good for the glider. If you dry the food yourself, it is fine - no additives....My gliders love dried blueberries!) smile wink
