frown Well I got "Rooodi", thats right three o's, on Dec 15, 2000, I loeved him the second I saw him. When I first got him he had like a little spot on the middle if his forehead right above his eyes, and a little bit of fur. I thought nothing of it, all I thought was just that it was his own little unique mark, you know like cats can be all black and have a white spot above the his eyes in the middle of his forehead, you know unique. Well this spot turned into a bigger spot, like bald, like if his hair is falling out,he has no hair in the spot, So i don't know what to think of it. I'm going out of my mind, I'm so worried for him, and I'm planing to get to see the VET on Friday, But I can't wait that long to figure what it, if it is just a temporary thing or or it an be harmful to him. Has anything like this ever happen to anybodies glider, I'm SOOO WORRIED!! Please someone reply back. frown

it's alright perfectly normal, all mature un-neutered males have it.. It is a scent gland, you may catch him rubbing it on things, he wants to claim as his, he will have a cut on his chest to, it also is a scent gland.

You have a perfectly healthy male sugar glider. As all before me have said, mature males develop a scent gland there. Also, don't become alarmed if he develops a similar but not so bald spot on his chest that looks oily. This too is a scent gland which is more pronounced in some males, less in others. At your expense, we are all ROFL. You might want to get Caroline MacPherson's books and learn a little more about gliders. (You'll see the bald spot on some of the glider pictures.) I teasingly call the spots male pattern baldness.

Have fun with your new little guy! wink

OH, THANK GOD! I was scared. YOu know I read books and looked up info, from the beginning of July 2000, before I go tone, and somehow I must of overlooked that. But does anyone have any website that they could reccomend to show me a pic to see if It looks like rooodi's thing...
Thanks,
Ray
