Does anyone know what gliders are doing when they sit and do like a snake dance with their tails? I thought maybe they were spraying/scenting, but havent noticed any smells afterwards. It's more my female that does it. Thanks -Lisa smile

Is she old enough to be in season? Does she have a mate?
I have seen mine do this several times and it looks like a somewhat erotic tail dance smile I could be on the wrong track, but Linus seems to know what it means ;)

Yes, she has a mate but she is only 4 mos. old and he is just reaching maturity. Maybe she is an early developer?? smile

My glider does this two times...mostly when he is about to make a big jump..he will soemtimes do this in an attack stance...if he wants to attack a toy or piece of rope..but mostly from a high point when hes going to jump. I think it gives him courage..or its because hes real excited.

There we go with the excitement thing again winkSince they are as young as they are, I still think maybe they are practicing that little "come hither" dance.
At any rate, I will watch mine closer to see if jumping has an effect on the tail smile

Mine do it when they are being especially ornery -- like when they're preparing to run out from a hiding spot and bite my toe. They also do it when they are getting ready to make a really big jump. My husband calls it "screwing up their courage". raspberry

Mine did the snaky dance last night for the first time. Hahaha what a sight! It was like she was teezing me, I know she was. I wanted her to come to my hand and she was all over the place. She'd come close, then go to the side and do her little dance. Go to tbe back and do her little dance. it was very funny.

I'd say its definitely a playful thing, just like when they will do that little hop when they come out and play.. haha I love that hop too.
its kinda like bounce bounce bounce.
I have only seen my female do the tail thing though.
