My glider is a little over a year old and I have been feeding her some veggies, leadbeaters (the kind w/ honey egg, baby cereal, & wheat germ), mealworms, and fruits. On sundays I put vitamin e on her food (the liguid that is in the pill I open it and squirt it on her food), tues and thurs, I sprinkle repcal on and the other days I put glid-a-mins that I got from the breeder on her food. This is the diet that the lady I got my glider from said to give her. I also feed her brisky's accu-feed pellets for gliders. And her fruit I cut up in large quantities and freeze. I take a little out at a time and give it to her. She seems to like it and she seems to be happy and healthy. I was wondering if it is infact good what I am feeding her. Can you help? Thanks, Kara

I think that Briskys is a complete diet and that you are not supposed make more than 10% of their diet from anything else. Also, there is not much in the way of protein in the leadbeatrs you feed. Most use a leadbeater mix that you put the repcal and even the vitimens in. I mix both in mine. smile

This diet is kind of mixed up. Briskys is a complete diet so if you are feeding it then don't feed anythign else with it except for treats.

If you decide not to feed the briskys, then you are left with the leadbeaters fruits and veggies.
Did you list all the ingredients of your leadbeaters? If so then no your leadbeaters has very little protien in it. It would not be adequate.

Bourbons leadbeaters is a balanced diet that already has the repcal and vit E in it. It needs to feed every day with fruit, veggies, and insects.

To have a good diet you can just use the briskys and nothing elser...or you could use a leadbeaters which has more protien...plys the fruits and veggies. With that diet you need to feed bugs dauly. If you do not know the recipie for bourbons leadbeaters then here is the link:

We also feed our glider Brisky's Accu-Feed. It is wonderful, and even the most finicky glider will eat it. Also be sure that treats are no more than 10% of their diet.

The "most" finicky gliders wouldn't touch Briskys with a ten foot pole. I'm glad your glider is happy with Briskys, but in my experience lots of gliders won't eat it.

I have to agree with Maria, the majority of gliders won't eat it however; there are some that will. Brisky's is a diet that intended to be fed a sole diet. I also have to add that i suggest you use one or the other, don't mix the two diets together. I don't feel good about the vit E pill thing, if it has wheat germ, and you are using vitamins, the extra vit E may not be good. I am just now starting to do some research regarding the vitamin E that someone has recently questioned me about. But i think that the oversupplimenting will definitly creat a problem.. Also with the leadbeaters what is you complete ingredients.??
