Hi I have a pair of sugar gliders (jules and Ben) who need a good home! You see I work in a petstore and about a week ago a guy came into my work wanting to sale his gliders on consignment(sp) my boss said ok, except that was going to change! I asked the guy what they were on and he said cat food, CAT FOOD, I exploded and said did you know that they shouldnt have cat food and especially not as a main food. He said well they get some veggies and fruits. SOME? I was getting very upset at this guy! Then I look at the cage and it has to be the worst cage I have ever seen gliders be put in. I wanted to punch the guy out! It was like glider abuse! Well as soon as he left I ran to the store to get the poor things some decent food. I told my boss that you dont just sale a glider there are so many things you have to know about them and ect. He said well we cant keep them anyways the cage smells to bad! So I called the guy back up and he said " well Im moving soon and I cant keep them, so if you dont take them I guess I have to find some alternative" the way the guy said this was like as if he was going to do something mean to them! I was so angry I just yelled I will buy them for 120 and there is no yes or no about it! So I took them home! I coudlnt keep them I dont have the proper cage or enough time because I have 2 boys allready. Well I found a good home for them and things were going good until the girl calls me and sais she has to switch apartments and the other one wont let her have them. frown so once again they came back to me! I know its horibble to switch homes on gliders and I just dont know what to do! Someone please they need a home! A good caring home where they dont have to be moved everywhere! Im asking 120 for the both. I live in wisconsin close to chicago! If anyone is interested or knows anybody who is e-mail me or leave a message!

Well hopefully you aren't just posting this here. You should also put out some flyers. That could help you out. I would help more if I could but for one I'm in Indiana and two I'm already getting one. frown

I have posted it on another website also! I wont put flyers out because I dont believe in letting just anyone get a sugar glider! I think people need to read up about them for awhile before you just go get one! And I want them to have a good home!

You could put up fliers in petstores...some will allow you to do this if they don't sell that type of pet..I know Petsmart allows it. You can screen this people. Even posting it here doesn't mean the person knows anything about gliders...it could eb the first day looking for glider info. Just screen the people and find out what they know. Good luck!!

I want to commend you on your TRUE glide spirit....You are right.....CAT FOOD....ANd I cringe the thought that MOST pet stores that do sell them in my area tell people that is what you feed them....The don't know that me and my wife have a whole shelf devoted to THEIR food, and that does not count the freezer and the WHOLE cupbourd for THEIR food.....We need to educate people and tell everyone that cat food is for just that CATS, and DOG food is just that for dogs, and so on and so forth.....I will send the pet store that we got our glider from a letter, and demand they be more responsible with their gliders.....They are selling them for a hefty price why not do right by them....Thank you again........I wish I could help, and maybe I can...But I live in Pennsylvania......Jim

I wish thati could take your gliders for you I live in central Il but my boyfriend would just freak if I brought home two more gliders. I also really don't have the room for two more right now. SO SORRY, since you are such a good glider owner I hope that you find them a really good loving and devoted family. I wish you all the luck.

If you really need a good home for these gliders, i'll take excellent care of them. I live in Waco, Texas, so you would have to ship them here, but if you want them to go to a good home, that's what it will take. I know it's hard on them to be shipped, but I can't drive that far, I'm in college. Please reply ASAP if you are interested.

wow shipping huh?
I dont know if they could handle being shipped! Im really going to have to think about that! Lets give it sometime and see if there is someone closer! I want a good home but I dont think shipping them is a good idea at all to be honest! Let me really think about that! Thanks

To everyone else who replied thanks for the input and everything. I do appreciate it, if any of you are close enough at all to take them into a good home please let me know!

I don't blame you for not wanting them shipped, so lets make it a last resort. If you do decide to ship them here, I'll be sure to give them a wonderful home and I will keep in touch with you about their activities. Really, you probably think I'll get them and never respond, but I will. Thanks for considering. smile wink frown

Shiping live animals can only legally be done through the airlines. It cost between 75-125 dollars. So don't forget to add that to your price if you are going to ship.
