Tonight my neighbor, a fellow glider owner ;), brought up a cup of crickets while I was taking a nap. My beloved hubby took the cup, covered it with a book, and left it on the bookshelf next to my gliders.
Waking up from my nap, I came in to read my email, the computer is right next to the bookshelf that contained the cup'o'crickets unknown to me. I have a two year old son, who is just learning how to drink out of a glass without a lid on it (I think you know where this is heading), located the cup and headed for it.
Since I did not know what was in the glass, I was just watching him so that he would not spill the contents. Well, the book fell off, my son saw the bugs, and then proceeded to shake the cup up and down, scattering crickets in every direction. There had to be about fifty of these disgusting, spit wielding, crickets dashing into every corner of my living room....... and guess who's job it is to go hunting tonight..... well we'll see if my gliders like crickets raspberry or not now, as I only found 90% of them.
<cringes... pouts> WHY ME.... <laffin>

That is absolutely hilarious. I can just picture the entire family down on their hands and knees trying to catch crickets.
So how did the gliders do finding them? If they did like them and enjoyed this game of "hunt your own supper" you do realize they will want this to become at the very least a weekly event raspberry smile

We end up with escapees all the time -- our gliders have figured out where all the easiest cricket hiding places are, and are really good at hunting them out! Good luck -- if nothing else, wait until it's dark and quiet, and listen for the chirping, then set your gliders on attack mode and let 'em hunt! ;)
