Well, just for fun I took the AOL Pet Test with the following results.
100% Degus - own a pr. w/5 babies
99% Mice/Rats - Own Nixon (rat) with 3 mice at
school.
94% Gerbils - none
93% SUGAR GLIDERS raspberry own pr. w/joey
89% Hamsters - have several at school
89% Hedgehog - own one
86% Ferret - own one

We have other pets, but these were top on the list. Just thought this was interesting. As stated before, the cost per month for most of these animals is incorrect, especially sugar glider. It was interesting to me that they placed a $15 per month cost on the ferret but only $10 on glider. I have found my ferret to be extremely inexpensive, and as we all know gliders are not.

Do you have to use AOL to take this test?

I'm rather curious here.

I don't know if you have to use AOL or not. With AOL, however, all you do is type in Pets for keyword and search. I am not familiar with other carriers.
Kim might know the answer - she's our resident computer wizard - or mine at least ;)

MUST be an AOL member. I posted what the test looks like..but the only way I could get someone else to take it would be if they were talking to me and I checked the answers for them. Then copied and pasted, or screen captured the results for them.

Ahhh that really sucks...I really wanted to take it...oh well...deffinitly not going to get AOL, for a test. And that would be way too much trouble for you to do Kim. Oh well, thanks!!

I saw you mention to Jane that you might create your own test. I think it would be spelendid if we had a test determining if a glider is the right pet for a perosn, and then a different test which would test them on the glider knowledge. I don't have a clue on how to do all that, but if you do one let me know!

Its a 10 question test!! LOL All I have to do is check answers, lol. Then either copy and paste answers to you, screen capture, or tell you if I happen to be on the phone with you. How hard is that? 10 minutes the most? If you wanna go for it lemme know and we can do it. No problem!

I took the test and I'm not an AOL member, so it might be ISP specific.

How did you open this URL in another browser?
aol://4344:662.pl_pets.5681938.608044873
Thats AOL specific, you have to have the service in order to take it. If you dont have AOL as your provider- that doesnt matter. You have to have the service even if you have another provider. I have RoadRunner, but I have the AOL service so Im still a member. Maybe you took a different test?

Karen offered to help me take the test also. I am in class all day today, but if one of you ia atill willing to help me when I have more time then I would appreciate it.

I got to take it, because soemone posted how to do it if you aren't an aol member. I don't agree with the test at all...and I don't believe the questions are specific enough to determine anything about excotic pets.

I mentioned before that I got 100% for sugar glider and 97% for pet rock. I love it that they think the perfect potential glider owner shares many of the same characteristics with a great ROCK owner.

I know does that make sense??? I put that I had a lot of time to spend with a pet, yet it gave me pet rock as 100%, and said it needed little to no time. It makes little sense to me how they get these answers. Pet rocks are not really like any other pet at all...I hardlu would call it a pet! How can you possibly get pet rock and sugar glider anywhere close to each other on a pet scale??

took test
100%sugar glider
99%degus
91%snake,
86%iguana,mice/rats,
85%turtle,pet rock,ferrits
84%lizard,
82%rabbits
80%gerbil, (tarantula??????)
did not expect gliders to be 100% although I love my gliders. I think that test is way too broad. I would love to have all those animals listed above though. and all the rest on the list well.... except maybe a skunk, and ants.... I like spiders and all but..not so sure I would want a pet tarantula

Just to remind everyone that they can take this test at http://www.askjeeves.com and typing in How do I pick the right pet for me?
My top was degu, then glider, and no. 6 was chinchillas.
I have chinchillas and gliders.

Karen, I am a bit swamped with my chins and gliders. I have promised my hubby no more pets for 10 or so years when these guys should be finishing a long and happy life. 8 chins and 7 gliders can do that to you !
