A couple of years ago, I raised a pet squirrel from infancy to adulthood. When he was old enough, I turned him into the wilds. Of course, I was attached to him and went through the usual worry and tears for the first few days.
A little over a year ago my son moved to Columbus,Ohio and met a woman through his work who had sugar gliders. He saw them and thought it would be perfect for me for my birthday. It is adorable and I spoil him unmercifully. He is a big healthy boy. The only thing is--he stinks!!!
So bad that I have had to move him onto the mud porch, which is fine for the summer, but with winter coming on--not good. The smell absolutely nauseats me.
I have tried to find a vet in the sixty mile radius of home, but no go. All the vets will not touch him because of the risks involved. They have no knowledge of them,so they don't want to nueter him. I cannot drive long distances so I cannot travel far away. The woman who sold my son the glider, has since moved on. She was not honest with him, as she told him that it was not different than raising the squirrel. Bull! We are not night owls here and as a result,he does not get the attention that he needs and deserves. Does anyone need a healthy male. I would be more than willing to ship him to you free of charge. He has had the best of care, he just is not the pet for us. The woman has since moved on, so we cannot take him back. I have advertised in the paper and on the trading post on the radio, but no luck for the last two months and winter is getting very close.Maybe someone knows of a breeder in the state of Ohio who needs a healthy male? Help!!

I read your post on sugarglider.com and I would be willing to give your glider a good home. I have owned sugar gliders for three years now and I currently have four. I have a great deal of experience with owning gliders and I am very aware of the responsibilities involved. I hat e to think of a glider going to an inexperienced home where he or she will simply be a "novelty pet." Since I am emailing you at 6:45 am, I am obviously a night owl, so I am awake when they are. I live in central Kentucky. Please email me more info about your glider so that I can see if he will get along with mine. Thanks.
