I have several pairs of rescued gliders available. I would really like to find these guys good homes. I am asking $200 per pair for them, some have joeys in pouch, some do not. Also have 2 seperate single adult males, asking $75 each. All of them are pretty tame and in good health. Please email me at babygirl@ccp.com or post here for more details. I am located near Kansas City Missouri for anyone interested.

Thanks,
Carolyn and the glider crew

I have a couple questions if you could please answer them. Are you USDA licensed? Were did these rescues come from and how many do you have?

Hi Kitara,

I am in the process of getting my license now. They came from a pet shop that finally decided that they couldn't keep them, so they just gave them up. I have several, how many are you looking for?

So none of them came from breeders? It is not legal to sell gliders until you have a USDA license! Just curious as to why you are selling these "rescues" for so much money? Isnt it better to just make sure they get loving, forever homes? What about meeting the people you sell them to? How do you know that you are not selling to some internet freak that wants a $200 glider lunch?!! What about how the GLIDER feels!

Here is another thought for you. If these gliders came from a pet store they are most likely not very friendly. I have yet to see or get in a rescue glider that came from a pte store that was not a scared biter. These gliders take time and commitment. If you sell a glider that bites and or is unhandleable chances are it will end up right back in a rescue, or worse yet another pet store!! I have a pet store glider that has been with me for over a year now and last night he bit me again! These gliders require special homes, are you finding those homes? Are you more committed to the dollar or the gliders?! This may sound harsh, and it is but the gliders come first !

Kitara why are you being so rude? Carolyn took in all of these poor gliders and spends her own money to feed and care for them. If she wants to sell them then she has the right and just because you think she should be giving them away for free doesn't mean she should. She has worked hard to take care of these poor mistreated animals and slowly started them on a healthy diet of BML, fruits, vegetables and insects. As she has told you she is working on getting her USDA license so be patient. I know that she will find great homes for all of those sweet babies.

Would you feel better if she said donation instead of sale price? Tell me, you both would want money, which will end up going toward the remaining gliders, what is the difference between donation & sale price? In this case, legality only...and such a SMALL minor legal point in this case. She IS getting the license, most likely will have it by time the gliders are sold.

Rocki's Mom specificly said, these are rescues, and she is looking for GOOD homes for them. She is obviously first of all, caring enough about gliders to rescue them in the first place. Next, she was caring enough to tame them and bring them back to health. Now, she is selling them at half the cost of the average glider. She is selling them for so much less than she has had to put into their rescuing. Whats the deal?? She is not making any money, she lost money!

Re-read her post, where it says shes looking for GOOD HOMES FOR RESCUED GLIDERS.

I know of several other rescue locations that are doing the exact same thing, and charging much more per glider.

Not to mention, when you give something away for free, its most often not valued.

Carolyn, if you do sell these gliders PLEASE PLEASE use the money you get to neuter the males you have to reduce this problem of rescued gliders. The gliders out there will thank you.
