Yes, they are toxic -- my dog spent 2 days in doggie ICU getting charcoal treatments after she chewed on several leaves -- they said it "probably" wouldnt have killed her, but it REALLY REALLY upset her tummy and her gums were swollen

VERY TOXIC TO A SUGAR GLIDER! EVEN TO SMALL CHILDREN! It is the stuff inside that they get into the back of their throat, and it is like little cactus spines, and what it does is swell up their throat until they can no longer breathe!! I read up on that too because i have 3 of them at my house! And what do you know, it is the one they run for first all the time!! VERY CAREFUL! Also it is the same scenerio with children !

okay It is very good to know that they are poisonous,I have probably ten or so peace lilies and my I have seen my cats and my dogs chew at the leaves before,, now that I think of it, it has been quite a while though, I never thought about them being poisonous for them before, and they have never been sick from them that I know of, maybe the plant upset their tummy and that is why they have not chewed at them in awhile,,,, My gliders are never in any of the rooms that the peace lillies are in,,,,, Now I have to move them from my other family members..... thanks for info,,,,
