I am so glad the site is finally back up. As an update, Kiki has started chatting when she eats her mealies! It is the absolute cutest thing, like she's trying to talk to me at the same time.

Question: While the site was down, I was visiting other glider sites and read somewhere that joeys should be between 50-60 grams before being taken away from the parents for adoption. If this is the case, I have two concerns: 1-If full grown they are only 80-120 grams, then wouldn't 60 grams be more like a "teenager"? 2- Kiki was only 36 grams at her vet appt almost three weeks agao and I've had her almost 2 1/2 months. Does this mean she was too little when she was sold to me or that she is too underweight?

Thanks for the great insight! smile

I've never heard that before. Gliders grow at different rates. One of my 6 month old gliders is 70 grams and the other 6 month old is 55 grams. As long as they are eight weeks OOP and eating on their own are the main concerns.

Where did you hear that? I have never heard anything about their weight...all gliders devlop at different rates and are going to weigh differently. A single baby will weigh more than a single twin would because the twins have to share the milk.

The age and the skills are importiant. Its importiant that they are eating on their own as well as pooping and peeing on their on. They shoild be a minimum of 8 weeks oop. If your glider is doing ok now then I wouldn't worry about it.

I actually read that on a pet site from a local breeder, not the one I purchased her from. I thought it sounded preposterous, but I was concerned nonetheless.

Thanks!

That just goes to show you that you can't believe everything you read on the internet.
