I have seen people sell this product on sugar glider supply pages, and I was wondering if it is good? It says that it contains actual bugs which would be a nice change from the insectavore fare. Does anyone know what its ingredients are? And if it is suitable for sugar gliders? Thank you.

I know it's safe for gliders. My breeder gave me some when I bought my glider. However, my glider won't touch it without a little something to make it tastier. I don't know if anyone else has any luck with it. My girl just sniffs and goes on.
Good luck,
Sassy

I haven't seen this one, but I finally found Flukers freeze dried crickets and mine won't touch them. That was a wasted $7.95 plus tax frown

This is the description for the BugsnBerries. I have heard some say their gliders love it and some say they have to mix it in with other foods to disguise it.
Avico Bugs~n~Berries is a universal insectivore diet which is meant for both birds and insectivorous mammals including Sugar Gliders. It can be fed alone or mixed with fresh fruit. Most species readily take to this diet on their own, others may need to be enticed by the addition of a few mealworms. Formulated to be low in iron it contains among other ingredients, insect larvae gut-loaded with spirulina and canthaxanthin.

Hi Sheila! What are the other ingredients? Do you know the nutritional breakdown? Thanks for helping.

Avico decided to use Bugs-n-Berries for sugar gliders as an afterthought because I told them gliders ate bugs in one of my many lectures to them. These people have no clue as to what a sugar glider diet should consist of, they don't have any sugar gliders of their own. I do not agree with their research methods which consist soley of sending out samples to see if animals will eat it. I was part of their original "research group", where they just sent samples to purchasers of gliderade not a few weeks after I told them gliders ate insects. Because they had a hit with Gliderade which does have some research to support its use, they are coming out with all these other products to cash in on the glider market including "Dry Diet" and Bugs-nBerries. Just because it has bugs in it does not mean it is a viable substitute for an insectivore diet with years of research and testing behind it. I would definately not chance giving gliders this untested, unproven diet.

I ordered it one time for a client and it looked like a bunch of crumbs in a bag. If it is bug larvae like they say it has to be somewhat good for them. They probably have a bug lite set up some where and they drop in a bag. lol. Anyway, I'd say, probably good for a dry food. If you call Cuttlebone, they can explain it to you.
