OK everyone, I have the Leadbeaters recipe and all the ingredients except for RepCal. Where can I find that? Also it was suggested to me to use Mazuri Omnivore Zoo Feed - has anyone used this, and where can I find it? I live in a secluded mountain town, we have pet stores, but I doubt they will have these products - does anyone know of some reliable web sites that may have these?

Thanks! smile raspberry smile

What recipe of lead beaters do you have ? I think the best leadbeaters recipe is the bourbons leadbeaters mix. I have no idea what this omnivore is personally. However i do know that if you feed the bourbons leadbeaters mix, all you need to feed in addition is 1/3 cup fruits and veggies, and something for protien such as insects. Rep-cal, i found at the pet store with the lizard stuff, even the simplest pet store i have been to, carrrys it. It is a little container. If you ask the people in the pet store im sure they will know what you are talking about. They do sell it on some web sites as well, but i am not sure which ones. A friend of mine uses www.petopia.com for alot of her things for her glider, you may want to check there. Or you can check www.petsmart.com they most certainly have it. I hope this helps you out a little bit. raspberry

Are you making bourbons leadbeaters? As tina saud you wouldn't really need to feed the omnivore food with it.

As for the rapcal you can get it in the reptile section of msot pet stores. Idf they don't have it they will normally order it for you.

You can buy it online from:

or

this website used to sell it but not sure anymore: http://www.petsmart.com

to answer your question about what it is..its a calcium suppliment, with vit d3 in it..rep cal is just the brand name, you can get another brand just make sure it does not have vit a (they dont need a lot of vit a and if they get too much they can get vit a toxicity) so any calcium suppliment with vit d3 and no vit a will work

I use a calcuim supplement called Herpcare...it is exactly the same as repcal, just made by another company. Also, the Mazuri Omnivore or the Mazuri New World Primate are great for daytime snack or free choice foods. I use both of them. Only problem is you have to purchase them in 50 pound bags. If you are interested in getting a smaller quantitiy, let me know.

You use herpcare? Darn it, i was asking about a month ago about that stuff, and since no one gave me any real replys about it, i went out and bought some rep cal. Well when i run out of rep cal, i know i can use it. How much do you use? do you put it into leadbeaters like i do rep cal?

Tina Marie...yes, I use it just like the recipe calls for. It is exactly the same as repcal, so I use the same amounts of it. Sorry I didn't see your post before. I have used the herpcare brand for about 8 months now. wink
