ok this may sound like a really dumb question..BUT bear in mind i am a very paranoid glider grannie (almost) my girl who is very pregnant keeps opening her pouch with her hands and sticking her face into it and i think licking the babies...is this normal? she is a very young 1st time mother and every time i see her doing it i get really worried that she will eat or hurt one of her joeys..so if anyone who has already done this can say if they have seen this before..please let me know. i am getting kina stressed over it

Do you know about when the joeys should oop? My female has done this near the time the joey/joeys should oop.
It is also possible she is stimulating them to nurse.

they should be out really soon..i saw a tail sticking out yeasterday..it had no fur on it, but it wasnt pink ither

She is cleaning the pouch and them. They start to urinate and poop and she has to keep them clean. This is a very normal thing to do. If she stopped paying attention I would be far more worried. But you do sound like a doting grandmom!

That sounds so sweet! THings like that make me wish all my boys weren't neutered. So I just have to look at pictures instead!

This is a forum for discussion. Placements of messages wanting sugar gliders or selling sugar gliders will be deleted. Like everyone else has said, mama is just keeping her babies clean. CONGRATS TO YOU! Babies are so sooo much fun! I love them to pieces! Some of my mamas have babies that hardly move in the pouch. Some always look like they have an earthquake within their pouch. Some even carry both babies on one side - so there is a huge lump on one side, flat on the other. I truly hope you enjoy you babies as much as I have mine! Good luck!
