we have had our gliders for almost a year. the male we have is very tame and the female is not. she crabs quite a bit at the other glider and when they are sleeping and we even touch the pouch she starts crabbing but the male does not. we are interested in putting them up for sale because we don't have as much time for them as we used to and we now have a dog that thinks they are her treats. i think that we are going to have a hard time selling the female because she has such an attitude and i think that if we seperate them now the male will surely die and probably the female too. Does anyone have any suggestions?

start out by seperating them into differnt cages. slowly at first, and keep the cages on different sides of the room, and wean them away from each other.keep giving them attention so as they dont get depressed.

Why would you want to seperate them. Sounds like your female just needs some extra TLC and there are lots of people out there that don't mind working with them. I just think it would be very hard for her to be seperated. I think that if she has an attitude and does not trust people now, wait until you take her only family away. I hope you can sell them without seperating them. Where are you located?

I am located in Eau Claire, WI. is it okay to just buy one sugarglider, i read in many book that they could die of loneliness and thats why we git another one. There is a girl who is kind of interested in buying them but she just wants one the male of course but I told her that I wouldn't sell them separatly.

Its perfectly fine to buy one glider. They are social creatures so you must spend a lot of time with them. However now that those two gliders are bonded it would be a very bad diea to seperate them. They could get real depressed....or they could turn aggressive. Gliders do not like being seperated from their mates at all. If you sell your male to someone they may find that he is not longer the sweet friendly glider...he may just become so depressed that he just sleeps all the time. When gliders have their mates die they often act like this..and by seperating them I think they would probably act as if the mate had died.
