Gliders do bite and it does hurt even the most tame ones will bite once in awhile. Yes gliders can be tamed if you have the patience and time. Gliders will bond to you but bonding can take anywhere from one day to several years.

Heh I have been bitten really hard and it hurts bad!! If you don't want to be bitten don't get a glider. They can and will bite soemtimes! Once they are bonded they don't ususally bite...but getting to that part can be hard.

Amen, Mary/Beck. "Taking the bite" may sound easy, but once bitten, it is almost impossible to hang in there for the next one.
I have only had one glider that has never bitten, and I have handled him since he was about three days oop. He has never even attempted ... his parents, well let's just say I found it impossible not to pull back.
It can be done but not by this girl raspberry
