My sister-in-law was just admitted to the hospital. (The same SIL that works in financial aid at the same University as Catman's wife and the one that had a crush on him in school LOL) She's pregnant after a LONG and expensive fertility process. She's been on bed rest for about 3.5 weeks already now (as in only allowed to get up to go to the bathroom and take a 5 min. shower max) and she is only 27 weeks along. She had a contraction while she was at the doctor's office this morning so they admitted her. They already told her the baby will be born premature but they are desperate to get past the 32 week mark.

My neice's 9th birthday party was supposed to be this coming Sunday so she's having a hard time understanding why she might not be able to have it. My poor brother has been a full time mom and dad since before Christmas while trying to work full time too. (She went on bedrest 3-4 days before Christmas)It's just basically a mess for them. He isn't exactly the motherly type if you know what I mean..but he's been awesome.

She's just very scared. They wanted to have another child for years, she's 40 this year and my neice was also premature. I think she was barely 3 lbs. when she was born. Both pregnancies have been really rough on her and her health. She had toxemia the first time around and is starting to get the same symptoms again I guess. I think they could use some "outside" support.

I know MOST weren't around when this happened but my brother's family had family photos done and EVERY time I see a new photo of Ally, I think of this thread and am in awe of what can be done nowadays. She'll be 4 in January already!

Shell grow up and be something amazing you can tell by looking at her photo how wonderfully blessed you all are! Wonderful Amazing story! And I wish you all the best through everything. I've had tubes in my ears, had my adnoids removed (nose tonsils), and have sleep apnea still and I'm still good. It's all little minor things that will lessen as she grows up but may always be there. But she's beautiful and from her history she's a fighter.

Omg that baby is amazingly cute!...I had some issues when I was preggo and was hospitalized off and on for the last 3 months but always went back home I had twins but lost one early on and they were afraid I would lose the second but he ended up being born late and is a big ol beast now. God bless lil ally she will be a lil beastling before you know it!
kyro298 Posted - Jun 11 2011 : 11:40:10 AM
Spunky is a great word. LOL She's been off oxygen for about a year but she's had to have tubes in her ears, her tonsils out and a surgery to enlarge her trachea all in the last few months. She also has horrible sleep apnea. Otherwise, she's in great health!

edited to fix spelling

Oh, Kylah! She is beautiful! My oldest daughter was born at 32 weeks and had 1/4 of her lung removed at a week old. She has cerebral palsy and didn't walk until she was 18 months old and they told us that she would always have breathing issues and she would not be able to run, would get winded easily and that she would get bronchitis frequently. They said that she would have learning disabilities and that she would need a lot of extra care. BUT! She is an amazing little girl. Cheerleader, soccer player, flag football player, straight A student, smart as a whip and has an I can do anything you can do attitude. You would NEVER know that she has any issues at all.
Your niece is beautiful and you can tell just from the photo that she is a smart, spunky, sweet little girl!
Thank you for sharing her story with us!
