Lately, I have read some really heated posts. Most of them were a bit silly, and since I really know nobody here and dont know enough about sugar gliders to participate in these debates I though I could give a neutral perspective. Some people have blown up about stuff. To them: take a deep breath and think twice before putting something mean. Once someone said something on the forum that I did not like, and I said something mean in return. But then, I realized that being rude back would not accomplish anything so I deleted my comment before they read it. Now, to those being blown up AT: If this person is being rude, I find the best way to counter act is killing with kindness. And I do not mean sarcastic kindness. Most of us are adults, so dont give in to childish ways and dont feed into the other persons rudeness. Wow this is much longer than I wanted, and I am so not trying to lecture anyone, I just hate seeing people fight and get there feeling hurt for no good reason. Life is too short to spend it angry and defensive. Have a great week! PS: I hate college finals! |

When you have people from all walks of life coming together on a public forum with totally different opinions, there are bound to be people that butt heads. Its the nature of the forum beast. Actually, Glider Gossip is fairly tame compared to some of the other forums. Ive been coming here a long time and chances are, if you wait things out - whoever is causing trouble generally wont stay long. The average life span of a forum member is around 6 months - then burn out hits... |

There is a lot of drama here on occasion. You don't notice it at first but after about a month or so, you start to learn and post your own topics and BAM you can get smashed to the ground with some drama. I have a nice little block list for jerks. You can access it from you PM homepage, and add usernames that you'd just rather not deal with. Handy dandy feature. I also think some spring fever is setting in and summer is getting closer, it's getting a lot hotter in Texas and that's not always conducive for the best mood. I know for myself I am a very opinionated person, and can come on pretty strong, especially online when tone can only be inferred by the reader from text and not heard in person. I really try to temper my posts the best I can with respect and honest questions. The worst drama I see though is started by an "anonymous" post. I mean, if you have something to say, stand by it and be ready to defend your stance. Otherwise what's the point in starting a discussion about it, yanno? |
