I'm here and there. Don't have much time to post because the neighbors turned their router off or something, so I only have internet when I'm at my aunt's house. |

I'm still here. Just enjoying the warm weather and the opportunity to get out and ride my motorcycle. Went on a couple of two and three day trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains and then to the Mountains of West Virginia. My husband and I went to visit his father at his cabin way back on the top of a mountain in the middle of the woods. It was great. I saw a black bear on his land, some deer and there are three horses grazing there as well. I wanted to stay forever it was so peaceful and quiet. I also took a trip and went to visit a member from here in Roanoke. I'm sure some of you remember her, MyZoo, her name is Ami. It was nice to meet a fellow member from your glider home. Once the cold weather kicks in I guess I'll be on a lot more but for now, I'm loving the summer. |

Still here. We have my wifes brothers kids staying with us for a few weeks. So far two weeks and one more to go. They are 10 and 11. We are spoiling them, Beaches, Pools, Disney, Universal, ect. They are taking up alot of our time so that leaves little for my to post, bummer. Shortly after thier gone wife and I go on vacation for week, Gettysburg, no kids they stay home. Ours are adults youngest 19. Then in August I go diving for lobsters. Sept. wedding and then to sandals for our aniversary. So will be very busy next couple of months, but will post when I can. Wellcome to all the newbies. |

I understand Rita, I'm sorry, but it kind of upset me to think a new person reading this for the first time might get offended and leave without asking a really important question and needing the advice of someone who knows a bit more. I would hate to think they would go to someone less able to answer their questions and in doing that their glider dies. You have stated a several times, the importance of giving clear impressions when new people may be reading the information given. This not only applies to Glider advice, but also in words that may offend someone needing your help.
I agree wholeheartedly! |

Trish - I dont think that is what was meant. You see, every summer this forum is usually flooded with new people - mostly extremely young. Im not trying to offend any person or age group - just stating facts. And they ask questions and dont like the answers given. So - the name calling, rude comments, etc start. They normally dont stay long, but it isnt pleasant while they are here. And in the chat room - well, I wont even go there except to say things get really stupid. Actually, so far this summer things havent been that bad. But I can tell you - those of us who have been here awhile dread summertime approaching. |

I thought a successful forum meant bringing in new people and being a source of information? I know I am probably opening a can of worms here (no pun intended) but calling people newbies and saying things like "let the newbies fight amongst each other" is kind of mean and kind of derogatory. Am I wrong in thinking this forum was created to be a means for which people in general could go to get answers to their questions about Sugar Gliders? Would you rather someone go to some other Glider information forum where they may get poor information? Yes I am new to this forum only been here a month, but I am in no means a newbie and I am not trying to cause a debate, but calling people newbies and saying things like that above may come off as insinuating you are of higher education then those NEWBIES you are referring to. Aren't part of the rules of this forum: to courteous to others? I'm sorry, I just had to say something to defend those people who come here looking for answers. |

I'm guessing a year or more constitutes being an alum? I'm not quite there yet. This is the first summer I've been a part of the forums, and I agree...there are lots of new people. |
