Jerry - Im so glad to hear you are getting medical attention. Like Roz said, the heart is NOT something to ignore... Glad you are back and feeling a little better. We miss you when you're gone! |
Mom2MandG Posted - Oct 30 2009 : 08:58:00 PM
Glad you are back Jerry. 240 when you run?!? Holy cow! My heart rate also really gets up there when I run/workout. No one ever seems to be concerned, maybe I should be more concerned myself? But I don't think it has ever been 240 though. Take care of yourself OK? |

It's good to have you back, Jerry! |
THEHYLAND Posted - Oct 30 2009 : 07:43:56 PM
My primary is also one of my freinds. We also dive together. I did talk to the cardo about it and he said he there shouldn't be a problem. The main problem I have is when I run my heart starts to race 180 200 240 bpm, not always but sometimes. Diving depending on what kind of diving is and can be very peacefull. P S don't have anymore diving trips planned for the rest of the year. |

Hey Jerry...I am gone for a few months..come back and you fell apart....It amazes me when someone who is active and physical fit has these type of medical problems......if you were over weight, smoked and just sat around it would be one thing but being in the shape you are.....it does not make sense.. Your cardiologist Iam sure must be top notch.....if in a couple weeks you are not better...make an appt with another board certified cardio for a second opinion.....the heart is NOT something to ignore....trust me I know. I hope your son is doing ok...that surgery sounds SOoooo painful. By the way did/does your doc know about you going diving???? I would think that is not something to do with heart problems.... Take care...my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.... |

Well hello folks. I'm back. Not what I was hoping for. They couldn't do a ablation, so I have to take a pill. The problem is my heart rate is already slow at rest, between 40 and 50. The pill I have to take now makes my heart rate even slower which now is giving me dizzy spells if I movie to fast. The dr. says thats normal till I get use to the medication. We'll see. Once get back to running I wonder how slow my heart rate will be. We'll see. I hope everybody else is doing great. Well off to posting now. lol I did get some extra time with my babies while I was off. |

Getting older really sucks doesnt it! I will be thinking of you tomorrow and praying all goes well and you get nothing but good news. Its so good you are listening to your body and working with your Dr to figure out what could be wrong. Let us know how things go. <<hugs>> |
THEHYLAND Posted - Oct 19 2009 : 08:16:10 PM
Well tomorrow morning is my cardiac ablation. I will have to stay over night so they say. I hope this fixes the problem. I'm tired of all the stuff that keeps going on. So if you think about it just say a pray for me tonight or tomorrow morning. Thanks Jerry. |
Rita Posted - Sep 17 2009 : 10:13:25 PM
Geez Jerry. You are falling apart! We're just gonna have to take you to the back yard and shoot you! Seriously, I hope all is well. A hiatal hernia is very painful. You will feel so much better when your surgery is done and it's all fixed. Hopefully, that dentist will make the tooth better, too. That's another VERY painful thing to have...

Well had my endoscope done. I have a high hatal hernia, bad spelling, I have to wait for lab tests to be done to figure out why. In the mean time it's two nexiums a day and gaviscon after each meal. I spoke with the cardiologist and have an appt. on Oct 5 to talk about the surgery I will be having. In the mean time no running and now I have a tooth ache. I have to wait till Weds to get that looked at. Bummer if it isn't one thing its another. |
Mom2MandG Posted - Sep 08 2009 : 07:38:51 PM
Boy, you travel more than anyone I know! I am jealous! Here is to a wonderful SAFE UNEVENTFUL trip! And I hope the tests/proceedures all go well. Will be keeping an eye out for updates. |

I finally I have one diagnosis. I have AV node reentery tachycardia. I have to go in for another something like a heart cath. They zap/ablase the part/parts that are giving off extra elec. beats. Now is the waiting game. After three DR. appt. last week I also get to have a endoscope on the 15th. This week I should here from the other cardiologist on when I can get the other treatment. Problem is I have a wedding to go to this month in Ohio and then off to the Bahamas, Sandels, for 7 days for our aniversary. It was on Sept 5th but we don't go then because of the laborday holiday. Besides the deals are better later on in the month. So I hope when I here from the DR. that I can wait couple more weeks, shoot this has been going on for over a year now so I don't see a great big hurry. I was told by my DR just don't run and If if do I have to take a pill with me just incase my heart starts to race. So I haven't been running, but I do plan on doing alot of diving. In the mean time I should get the results of the endoscope on the 15th. Just pray that everything turns out good. |

Jerry - Im glad to hear Michael is feeling better. Surgery is not fun. Now - we need to find out what is going on with you! And - OH Boy, do I know all about dealing with insurance companies. It's been about everyday since Alan's car wreck. Im about to lose what little bit that left of my mind. |
dragonracer Posted - Aug 28 2009 : 11:39:09 PM
Good deal. Glad to hear everyone is doing good. Hoping for a speedy recovery. |
Mom2MandG Posted - Aug 28 2009 : 08:14:32 AM
Thinking of you both too. I am glad that Michael is doing well. I hope you can see your own Dr. Yes, insurance and paperwork are a pain in the you know what. Will be looking for updates! |
THEHYLAND Posted - Aug 28 2009 : 06:20:04 AM
Michael is a trooper, he is doing great. Getting board but doing great. While I got to wear the monitor on Monday and Tuesday. Last night I got a phone call from the doctors office. Yeap they said you do have some svt's and need to see the cardiologist. Well we know the plumbing is fine so now what. I kept telling them for over a year now that something just wasn't right. So now I need to figure out which cardio to see My own or the workers comp one. The strange thing is when I went into the hosp. it was under workers comp and the cardio was my own. So maybe I can see the same one. Paper work and insurance is a pain in the butt. I will let you guys know what happens. |
Mollysmom Posted - Aug 24 2009 : 05:25:12 PM
I am really glad to read that both of you are doing okay! I can't imagine the pain Michael must be going through. Boy, that just sounds awful! |
THEHYLAND Posted - Aug 24 2009 : 05:19:17 PM
MICHAEL came home Sunday night. Still sore, he will be for couple of months. Long story short. He had each one of his ribs cut and some take off the a bar placed behind the stern and that also broken in two places. Then the stern was raised up flat with the rest of the chest. His chest looks great. I have stayed home with him all day and kept checking on him. He finally got out of bed at about 2pm. I told him if he kept sleeping he's not going to sleep tonight. Well most of the day, I went to the doctor and am wearing a monitor. It comes off tomorrow. So far everybody is doing great. |
Mom2MandG Posted - Aug 23 2009 : 05:32:16 PM
I am glad he is doing well. I can't imagine what he has been through. I hope he is feeling better soon. I hope you are doing OK as well. I have been wondering. |

Sounds like a fabulous vacation! I am glad that you went. Workaholics tend to underestimate the health benefits of taking a great vacation! :-D I bet you really needed it. Take care, and please continue to keep us posted. |
THEHYLAND Posted - Aug 18 2009 : 07:55:46 AM
Ok no lobsters last night, some people were on vacation. I don't want anybody to miss out. The plan is for Sunday. Micheal's sergury is set for tomorrow at 0730 so keep him in your prayers. I don't know why but he is happy about getting all his ribs broken. I know the after effect is what he is hopeing for. If I get time I will post the outcome tomorrow night. |
