You must be a member for 90 days. Be semi-active on the board. There has been too many that did not get or send a gift. I'm very sorry for those that are new and want to join in on the fun. Just stick around and you can join in. 1.The names are put into a hat, I then pull 2 names and they become buddies. I do however, try and make sure that no 2 people are buddies month after month. 2.You will have the entire month to get with your buddy and make arrangements with them. 3.If you do not send or get a gift, the offending person will be banned from the exchange for 3 months. 4.On the 1st of each month I will post the buddy results. On approximately the 5th of the month I will start a new thread for the next months sign-up. 5.Any questions or comments are appreciated. Please pm them to me or do it in another topic. 6.There is a $15 minimum, just because there are younger ones here that can't afford much. You are welcome to spend more, but do not assume just because you spent $50 that the other person is going to as well. 7.I can not stress enough that all items MUST BE NEW!! Its a waste to send used/opened items. The only exception is if your buddy says its ok. Otherwise, please send new never used items. 8.The items do not have to be expensive, but they do have to be NEW/Never Used. |

Waiting to see who my buddy is :) Im so excited!! |

You have the entire month to do this. All gifts must be sent by the end of the month. It is important that you keep your buddy informed on what is going on though. So, they aren't kept wondering.

You guys are too funny sometimes. Here's my opinion on the things that have come up. ~You are most welcome to tell what your wish/want lists are. I personally encourage it. ~As far as the sponsor idea, while a great idea, it does create a whole new set of headaches, that I personally am not wanting to tackle at this time. There is so much that goes on that I don't tell anyone. ~I will not say names but some of the things that go on behind the scenes are these: I don't want that person, I want that person, that person doesn't give good gifts, I sent a $100 gift and got a $20 gift it isn't fair to me, can I send opened food,is it ok to send used toys, pouches and cage sets, do I have to send a gift if they don't send me one. ~I thought the rules were clearly spelled out. I try very hard to make sure that everyone can join in no matter what age you are. ~We all decided on 90 days to make sure that the people will stick around and not only learn more about gliders, but also to become part of the GG family. Get to know people and let them get to know you. ~I have no problem if someone else wants to head up a sponsor exchange. That way it is seperate from this one. Just make sure its OK with Kazko. Respectfully written by, Karen

Not sure what the norm is as I have only been in one but yes, I made toys for Roxysugarbabies and I like to custom make toys for my friends. :) |

Regarding sponsorship : if the sponsor has to step up and give a gift for the sponsored, does that mean the sponsor gets no gift? This is confusing. My thoughts: why not have the newbie give the gift first, complete w/tracking number before a gift is sent out? Either that, or simply wait. 90 days isn't a long wait, all things considered, to prove how committed you are. Patience is a virtue.
Thats a great idea! Sponsor: No they still have their own buddy.. they only send out another gift if they sposored didn't do it. It should be volentier only. That one would still leave someone with no gift exchange for the months which isn't fair since they got a newbi. Waitting works too! Any time I ran a swap online and they didn't get their gift from their buddy I always sent one to them. They the other person got banned and was not allow to swap on the site. It made for a lot of clean swaps. |

Just so my exchange buddy is assured I am "on the up and up". I would love to be "sponsored" in order to participate.
Thats a great idea too but that can still leave someone not getting to do a gift exchange for the month. Not really fair. But the sponsored idea means everyone still gets a gift. Now If it is even considered and I can get sponsored I will also sponser someone down the road because someone did it for me. |

How do you guys feel about a potential sponsorship for those that want to participate but are not eligible yet? Basically, for example - there is someone that wants to participate but does not have the tenure to do so. I would sponsor this person (1) and basically guarantee that their gift buddy gets a gift if they disappear, etc. So, this sponsored person will be in the gift exchange - they will send their gift to their buddy and their buddy will send their gift to them like normal. HOWEVER, if the person I am sponsoring does NOT send their gift - then I will send a gift in place of them to their buddy. This will ensure that the tenured buddy is protected. My only thoughts are - what are the repercussions if the sponsored buddy does not gift up? It's a "chance" ya know? So, if you blow it - there should be repercussions. The Sponsor gets nothing out of the deal (i.e. no return gift). It's kind of a goodness of the heart type thing in hopes that the sponsored person will back up their participation. Thoughts?
